The AJ Family

The AJ Mini Table traces its origins to Jacobsen's 1957 commission for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen — a project in which he controlled everything, from the building's architecture to its furniture, fittings, and light. The AJ Mini Table, along with the floor, table, and wall lamps, could be found throughout the hotel after its inauguration in 1960, finished in copper and stainless steel.

Reintroduced in 2020 to mark the 60th anniversary of the hotel, the AJ Mini Table returned alongside the original stainless steel finishes — and has since found its place on windowsills, bookshelves, and small tables around the world.

The Design

The AJ Mini Table emits soft, downward-directed light from a white-painted inner shade. The shade can be tilted approximately 90 degrees up and down, allowing light distribution to be adjusted to suit the setting. Available in White, Black, Pale Petroleum, Warm Sand, Soft Lemon, Electric Orange, Dusty Blue, Warm Grey, and Stainless Steel Polished. Black and Warm Grey are also available with polished brass.

Please note: brass surfaces are untreated and will develop a natural patina over time.
