A Table Designed for the Hunt
The BM1160 Hunting Table was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1950 for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition, as part of the same hunting cabin commission that produced the BM1106 Huntsman Chair. The two pieces were conceived together and remain a natural pairing.
Detailed craftsmanship and pure function combined. The table is narrow by design — suited to smaller dining rooms and intimate gatherings without sacrificing presence. Rounded corners and edges in solid wood reflect Mogensen’s commitment to furniture built for daily use. Two diagonal steel brace bars connect the tabletop to the frame, providing structural stability while adding a considered industrial detail. The mortise and tenon joints on the legs, finished in contrasting wood, are a further mark of the table’s handcrafted character.
