A Reinterpretation of the Classic Armchair
Jasper Morrison's work is not defined by novelty or fashion, but by the refinement of a familiar typology. The HAL Lounge Chair is his reinterpretation of the upholstered four-legged armchair with a high backrest — compact in footprint, but exceptionally comfortable. The shell is moulded from fibre-reinforced recycled ABS plastic and encased in polyurethane foam; the base is solid oak in natural or dark finish. This version comes with soft loose seat and neck cushions, which can be removed and replaced independently.
The HAL Lounge Chair is equally at home in a living room, a hotel lobby, or a public waiting area — its understated aesthetic means it works alone, in pairs, or in groups without demanding attention. Morrison's restraint is the point: the design does not follow trends and will not date.
