Plywood Group — DCW Dining Chair Wood
The DCW (Dining Chair Wood) is the dining-height counterpart to the LCW — seat, back, and base all in moulded plywood, connected via shock mounts that allow a slight, natural flex. The organic shell conforms to the body without padding, and the all-wood construction gives the chair a warmth and coherence that makes it as suited to a home dining room as to a considered contract setting. Available in black ash, natural ash, or black pigmented walnut.
Charles and Ray Eames spent many years experimenting with techniques for producing three-dimensionally moulded plywood seat shells that conformed to the contours of the human body. The result was the Plywood Group — a family of chairs that have matured into classics while retaining an appearance that still looks contemporary today.
