The LKR Colours — Wire Shell, Rod Base

Designed by Charles and Ray Eames from welded steel wire, the Wire Chair is a variation on the theme of the organically shaped one-piece seat shell — combining transparent lightness with technical sophistication. The LKR is the lounge-height version on a rod base, sitting lower than a standard dining chair and suited to relaxed, informal settings. Charles and Ray Eames used both wire and fiberglass versions throughout the Eames House in Pacific Palisades.

This Colours edition is available in four shades drawn directly from the original Eames palette: Citron Yellow, Sky Blue, Dark Green, and Sea Foam Green — all powder-coated. The seat shell can be used without upholstery, with a seat pad only (LKR-5), or with the two-piece seat and back ‘Bikini’ pad (LKR-2) in fabric or leather. Cushion variants are available on request — please contact our team for more information. The powder-coated finish makes all colour versions suitable for outdoor use on a temporary or seasonal basis — after prolonged exposure, clean and store in a dry, sheltered place.
