Plywood Group — LCW Leather Lounge Chair Wood
The LCW Leather reintroduces the upholstered version of the Lounge Chair Wood as it was first launched in 1946 — the all-plywood shell construction paired with a thin wedge of foam beneath black Nero leather, adding comfort while preserving the chair’s lean, sculptural profile. Available in black ash, natural ash, or black pigmented walnut.
Charles and Ray Eames spent many years experimenting with techniques for producing three-dimensionally moulded plywood seat shells that conformed to the contours of the human body. The result was the Plywood Group — a family of chairs that have matured into classics while retaining an appearance that still looks contemporary today. Seat, back, and base are all in moulded plywood, connected via shock mounts — bonded rubber and metal connectors that allow a slight, natural flex.
