Soft Pad EA 205 — Conference

The EA 205 is the armless model in the Eames Soft Pad Group — a range of chairs that share the slim aluminium frame of the Aluminium Chair but add stitched, padded cushions for a softer, more comfortable seat. The result is a chair that retains the graphic precision of the original Eames design while offering a noticeably more generous feel.

In the early years of production the cushions were filled with down feathers. Vitra later switched to foam for improved longevity and a deeper sink-in feel — a change that raised the seat position slightly. The ‘new height’ option sits two centimetres lower to restore the original seating position.
