The DKW-5 — Wire Shell, Wood Base, Seat Pad
The DKW-5 is the Vitra Eames Wire Chair DKW fitted with a single seat pad — adding a layer of comfort to the dark wire shell while keeping the back open. Available in fabric or leather, the pad is removable for cleaning.
The same chair as the DKW in all other respects — powder-coated basic dark wire shell on a solid maple base in black, dark, or golden maple.

- Seat shell — bent and welded steel wire, powder-coated in basic dark
- Base — solid maple with stained finish, steel rod cross struts
- Upholstery — seat pad in fabric or leather; removable for cleaning
- Glides — plastic glides for carpet; felt glides for hard floors optionally available
- Origin of wood — maple (Acer platanoides) from Western Europe and/or Poland
