Designed by Konstantin Grcic for Vitra in 2014, the Allstar defies easy categorisation — it sits between the office chair and the home office chair, and that ambiguity is entirely intentional. Grcic's aim was to bring a relaxed, domestic familiarity to the workplace: a chair that feels as though it has always existed, inspiring a quiet sense of trust and ease.

Beneath its approachable form, Allstar contains all the functional requirements of a serious office chair — a synchronised mechanism with lockable positioning, seat depth and height adjustment, and an adjustable backrest. A stout loop frame in polyamide simultaneously serves as armrest, backrest support, and extended arm of the mechanical unit. The organically shaped seat and backrest cushions work in concert with these technical features to deliver sustained comfort across long working days.
