Skagerak Vent Stool
Manufacturer: Skagerak by Fritz Hansen | Designer: Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm
Named after the Danish word for wait, the Vent Stool is an invitation to sit for a moment. The series was conceived as seating for leisurely viewing artworks at museums — a place to pause, look, and linger — and that unhurried quality carries naturally into the home. Equal parts beautiful and functional, the handwoven paper cord seat counterbalances the stringent and slender steel frame. Each piece is handmade in collaboration with a local workshop for the blind and sight impaired, giving the Vent Stool a quiet social dimension alongside its considered form.
The Vent Stool is the work of Danish/Swedish furniture designer Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm, whose minimalistic approach and use of natural materials reflect her Nordic roots. For Halstrøm, function is the starting point — the idiom from which her designs grow. The paper cord weave is worked by hand, producing a seat that is tactile and durable, a warm counterpoint to the precision of the powder-coated black steel base.
Specifications
- Dimensions — W39 × D29 × H44cm
- Material — Powder coated black steel frame; neutral paper cord seat
Pair it with: the Skagerak Vent Bench. Part of the Skagerak Bar, Counter & Low Stools collection and the Low Stools collection.
