Skagerak Fionia Low Stool
Manufacturer: Skagerak by Fritz Hansen | Designer: Jens H. Quistgaard
A Nordic Interpretation of the Ancient X-Chair
The Fionia Low Stool is a modern reinterpretation of the ancient X-chair — lightweight, folding, and built around a simple triangular construction that is as stable as it is elegant. Designed by Jens H. Quistgaard in 1986, it has become a long-standing favourite for its quiet versatility: equally useful as a low seat, a bedside table, or a stand for books, pots and flowers. Available in untreated oak or untreated teak.
Jens Quistgaard (1919–2008) was a Danish designer whose work became synonymous with Scandinavian Modern. He apprenticed under Georg Jensen and developed from draughtsman and relief-maker into one of the defining sculptural designers of his generation, with work exhibited at trade fairs and in homes around the world.
