The PH 80 Portable Lamp takes one of the most considered lighting designs of the 20th century and cuts it free from the wall. Poul Henningsen's three-shade principle — built around the logarithmic spiral, engineered for glare-free light — now goes wherever you do. From the dining table to the garden, the bedside to the bookshelf, it brings the same warm, enveloping quality of light that made the PH series iconic.
Created in 1974 to mark the 80th anniversary of Henningsen's birth, the PH 80 has always been a lamp that honours its maker quietly. The Portable version adds a new dimension: freedom. No cord to route, no socket to find — just light, placed exactly where you want it.
Light Concept
The PH 80 Portable emits a diffused, reflected, symmetrical light, with the majority directed downward. The opal acrylic shades soften the output into comfortable, even room lighting. The Original version's red top reflector adds a warm, amber-tinged glow; the White version uses a white reflector for a cleaner, cooler result. Dim-to-Warm technology shifts the colour temperature from 2700K down to 1800K as you dim — the warmer and more intimate the light becomes, the lower you go.
