HAY Rey Dining Chair

Manufacturer: HAY | Designer: Bruno Rey for Dietiker, 1971

Designed by Bruno Rey in 1971, the Rey Chair was the first to be patented with Dietiker's screwless wood-to-metal connection — a detail that gives it both its distinctive look and its exceptional strength. HAY has reimagined the design with updated dimensions and a broad palette of colours, while retaining the rounded edges, curved backrest and stackable construction that made it one of the most successful Swiss chairs of all time.

The seat and back are moulded plywood with beech veneer; the legs are solid beech, finished in your choice of ten water-based lacquer colours. Plastic gliders are fitted as standard, suitable for all but the most sensitive floor surfaces.

  • Dimensions — W44 × D49 × H80cm (seat height 46.5cm)
  • Material — Moulded plywood with beech veneer; solid beech legs
  • Gliders — Plastic, standard on all variants; suitable for all but the most sensitive floor surfaces
  • Stacking — Up to 4 chairs
  • Colours — Deep Black, Deep Blue, Cream White, Fall Green, Golden, Grape Red, Scarlet Red, Slate Blue, Soft Mint, Umber Brown — all WB Lacquered Beech

Also available with an upholstered seat. Pairs well with the HAY Rey Dining Table.

Part of the HAY Rey Collection.
