The Sound of Design
The VLA77 Foyer Sofa was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1945 as one of three pieces created exclusively for the foyer of Radiohuset in Copenhagen β the building that today houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Simple yet expressive, the sofa is characterised by the interplay between its solid oak frame and upholstery, with a backrest that appears almost to float above the seat.
Assembled from three parts of solid oak and reworked to meet modern needs for comfort, the timeless design features a gently tapered frame and expertly tailored upholstery with handmade buttons. Available to a wider audience for the first time.
