A Dining Table That Extends Without the Effort
The SH900 Extend Table solves the problem most extendable dining tables ignore: the extension itself. Rather than separate leaves stored in a cupboard or under the table, the SH900 has its extension built in — pull the table end and a hidden foldout system reveals two additional leaves in a bold black finish, ready in moments. At 190cm it seats six; fully extended to 300cm it seats ten, without any rearranging of the room around it.
Designed by Christina Strand and Niels Hvass in 2007, the SH900 pairs the warmth of a solid oak top and base with the graphic contrast of black honeycomb MDF leaves — a material combination that feels considered rather than compromised. The strong, clean lines pay tribute to the Danish furniture tradition while the integrated extension mechanism represents something genuinely new within it.
