The Dining Chair with Armrests
The AH502 is the armchair version of Alfred Homann's AH Outdoor Series — the same rigorous design language as the AH501, with the addition of slightly inclined armrests that make it the more relaxed of the two dining chairs. Designed in 2022, it shares the same FSC™-certified teak frame, hand-polished joints, and stackable construction.
The brief was the same as across the whole series: nothing superfluous, everything considered. Strict lines are softened by gently curved backrests, seats, and armrests, with braces that grip the frame cleanly. Each joint is hand-polished by craftsmen at Carl Hansen & Søn to achieve a surface that's soft to the touch and built for the outdoors.
Craftsmanship & Finish
Teak is a naturally hardy wood that weathers well outdoors, developing a silver-grey patina over time if left untreated — or it can be oiled to maintain its warm honey tone.
