Designed by Ole Wanscher in 1957, the OW2000 Egyptian Folding Stool draws directly on his fascination with ancient Egyptian furniture — in particular the ceremonial seats he encountered at the Temple of Thebes. The result is a piece of quiet authority: lightweight and foldable, yet unmistakably considered in every detail. The saddle leather seat collapses neatly into the frame when folded, making it as practical as it is beautiful.

Wanscher was a lifelong student of furniture history, travelling widely and absorbing the design traditions of other cultures into his own work. The OW2000 is one of his most distinctive expressions of that curiosity — a modern object with ancient roots, finished to the highest standard.
