A Four-Seater Sofa for the Outdoors

The Embrace Outdoor Lounge Sofa is a flexible, modular system designed by Vienna-based studio EOOS as part of the Embrace Outdoor Series for Carl Hansen & Søn. This configuration uses two E510 armrest modules to create a generous four-seater with a defined arm at each end — a symmetrical, composed arrangement that works equally well as a standalone sofa or as the anchor of a larger outdoor setting.

The frame is solid FSC™-certified teak, untreated, with a tightly hand-woven flat rope back and armrests. Left untreated, the teak develops a sophisticated silver-grey patina over time. The cushions come in colours inspired by the Scandinavian landscape — pillows in six colours, cushions in three — and can be mixed and matched for personalisation. Cushions are removable for easy cleaning and storage. All cushions are made from cold-cured (CMHR) foam to meet UK fire regulations.

This is one suggested configuration — the Embrace Outdoor Lounge Sofa can be freely combined from seven standard modules to suit your space. Cushions are removable for easy cleaning and storage.
