Peter's Table was designed by Hans J. Wegner as a supplement to the CH410 Peter's Chair — both created in 1944 as a christening gift for Peter, the son of his friend and fellow furniture designer Børge Mogensen. Like the chair, the table is conceived as a three-dimensional puzzle in untreated beech: all components are tool-free to assemble, with no sharp edges, making it as safe to handle as it is satisfying to put together.
Simple in form and honest in material, the table has remained in production ever since — a measure of how well a design made for one child has continued to work for generations of them.
