The Highback Plank Chair

The CH291 Highback Lounge Chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1962 as part of the CH290 Series. Where the CH290 breathes and opens out, the CH291 draws you in — a tall backrest and integrated neck pillow make it the more enveloping of the two, without losing any of the series’ characteristic lightness. The dynamically angled legs, wide armrests, and visible slatted back are unmistakably Wegner; the upholstered seat and back cushions soften the frame into something genuinely comfortable.

Craftsmanship & Finish

The FSC®-certified oak frame is hand-finished to a smooth surface, enhancing the natural beauty of the wood. The seat and back cushions are upholstered in your choice of Carl Hansen fabric or leather, with removable covers for easy care — designed for both comfort and ease of maintenance.
