The CH106 is a square coffee table that shows a different side of Wegner — one less associated with the warmth of solid wood and more with the precision that steel and glass demand. Designed in 1970 as part of the CH100 series, it sits alongside the CH101 armchair and the CH102, CH103, and CH104 sofas, sharing the same considered approach to bent flat steel as a structural and aesthetic material.
The frame consists of two trestles in bent flat steel, joined by two transverse rails that also carry the tabletop. The polished glass top sits directly on those rails, leaving the frame fully visible beneath — a deliberate choice that makes the construction part of the design. Rounded corners on the glass soften what could otherwise read as an industrial piece, and the result is a table that feels light despite its material weight.
