The BM0489S is the shorter version of Børge Mogensen's reinterpreted Table Bench, replacing the rattan seat with double plane-weave FSC-certified paper cord. Solid oak softened by rounded edges and a tightly woven surface — the result is an understated, quietly elegant piece that creates an interplay between two organic materials.
Compact and adaptable, it works equally well as a bench in a hallway, a coffee or side table in the living room, a bedside table, or arranged alongside other furniture as part of a considered interior. Crafted in solid oak with traditional cabinetry joints and rounded edges throughout. The paper cord seat is woven by hand — it takes an experienced craftsman six hours to weave the 335 metres of FSC-certified cord that completes each piece. Carl Hansen & Søn has over 70 years of experience working with paper cord.
