Carl Hansen BM0700 Asserbo Bench - Ex-Display
Manufacturer: Carl Hansen & Søn | Designer: Børge Mogensen, 1961
The BM0700 Asserbo Bench was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1961 as a companion to the Asserbo Table — part of a series rooted in Shaker principles: honest materials, visible structure, nothing superfluous. Originally made in pine, it is now produced in dark-oiled FSC™-certified eucalyptus — a harder, more characterful timber with a warm reddish-brown tone and naturally expressive grain. Brushed brass screws are left visible, a detail that adds quiet distinction without decoration.
Eucalyptus has stronger tonal contrast than many furniture timbers, so small marks or light scratches can appear more visible initially. Over time these settle into the surface and become part of the bench's natural patina — a material that ages honestly.
This is an ex-display piece from The Innes Gallery, offered at £575 against a standard retail price of £845. Maintained to showroom standard throughout. Please note the bench is delivered unassembled.
- Dimensions — W170 × D50 × H46cm
- Material — Solid FSC™-certified eucalyptus, dark oil finish
- Hardware — Brushed brass screws
- Assembly — Delivered unassembled
