The BM0488L Table Bench is one of Børge Mogensen's most quietly versatile designs. Originally created in 1958 to complement the BM0865 Daybed, it belongs to his 'building furniture' concept — pieces designed to adapt to changing needs and spaces over time. Reintroduced by Carl Hansen & Søn, it works equally well as a bench in an entrance hall, at the foot of a bed, or as a low table in a living or dining room. Crafted in solid oak heartwood — the dense, flawless inner portion of the trunk — the bench is shaped using traditional cabinetry joints with rounded edges that carry through the legs and rails. The seat is finished with a double-woven rattan surface, durable and decorative in equal measure.
