The BM0489L is a reinterpretation of Børge Mogensen's original 1958 Table Bench, replacing the rattan seat with double plane-weave FSC-certified paper cord. The result is a quietly refined piece — solid oak softened by rounded edges and a tightly woven basket weave surface that creates an elegant interplay between two organic materials.
Part of Mogensen's 'building furniture' concept, it adapts effortlessly to changing needs: equally at home as a bench in a hallway, at the foot of a bed, or as a low side table in a living or dining room. Crafted in solid oak with traditional cabinetry joints and rounded edges throughout. The paper cord seat is woven by hand — it takes an experienced craftsman six hours to weave the 335 metres of FSC-certified cord that completes each piece. Carl Hansen & Søn has over 70 years of experience working with paper cord.
