Vitra Trapeze Table 223x72.5x72cm

Manufacturer: Vitra | Designer: Jean Prouvé, 1950/54

Designed for the Cité Universitaire, 1950

Like the Antony chair, the Trapèze table was originally developed for the Cité Universitaire in Antony, near Paris, and is among the last pieces Jean Prouvé created in the field of furniture design. The table takes its name from the distinctive trapezoidal shape of its paired legs, constructed from bent sheet steel. Together with the thick, obliquely canted edges of the top, they give the table a solid, structural presence that is unmistakably Prouvé.

Specifications

  • Dimensions — W223 Ă— D72.5 Ă— H72cm
  • Table top — melamine, black, anti-fingerprint (smooth)
  • Base — bent sheet steel, powder-coated black

Part of the Vitra Jean Prouvé Collection, Vitra Dining Tables and Dining Tables collections. Pairs well with the Vitra Dining Chairs collection.
