Vitra Tabouret Haut Stool
Manufacturer: Vitra | Designer: Jean Prouvé, 1942
A Bar Stool of Lucid Construction
For the Tabouret Haut, Jean Prouvé drew on a traditional bar stool form — a round seat disc resting on four long, canted legs. A chrome-plated steel ring is mounted to the inside of the legs at roughly a third of their height, both stiffening the construction and serving as a comfortable footrest. Prouvé's interpretation is distinguished by its unpretentious appearance, lucid construction, and harmonious proportions. Seat and legs are matched in the same oak finish.
Specifications
- Dimensions — Ø60cm (seat Ø38cm) × H77.5cm
- Seat — solid oak, natural or dark lacquer finish
- Base — solid oak legs, natural or dark lacquer finish; chrome-plated tubular steel footrest with anti-skid surface
- Oak origin — Quercus robur, Western Europe and/or Poland
Also available as the low stool version: Vitra Tabouret Bois Stool.
