The String® System was designed in 1949 and over 60 years it has evolved from being a ground-breaking concept to becoming one of the most loved pieces of classic Scandinavian design.
Each component of the system is so well thought through that there is an almost infinite variety of combinations. The components are available in a range of colours and materials, yet the measurements are fixed and have never been altered. That’s why a String® shelf can always be rebuilt, reinvented and transformed.
The metal shoe shelf is a practical addition to any String system — particularly well suited to hallway configurations where keeping footwear off the floor makes a real difference. At just 10cm high, it sits neatly within the system without interrupting the overall look, and holds shoes at a slight angle to make the most of the available depth.
Please note that this shelf requires the String Furniture side panels, sold separately.
