Fritz Hansen Planner Square Coffee Table
Manufacturer: Fritz Hansen | Designer: Paul McCobb, 1953
The Planner™ Square Coffee Table is the most architectural format in McCobb’s relaunched table series — four equal sides, four right angles, a strong linear framework that holds its ground in a room. Available in three sizes, from the compact MC330 to the room-anchoring MC340, it adapts to the space without compromising its geometry. The structured marble surface and powder-coated steel base reduce the table to its two essential elements. McCobb called this approach form follows function; the result is a piece that looks as resolved today as it did in 1953.
The marble is honed to a matt, uniform finish — tactile rather than reflective. Charcoal marble is deep black with striking white veining and fossil traces from shells and snails, each slab unique. Cream marble has a warm base with red veining formed by metal minerals accumulated over 100 million years, with brown fossil sediments and white marbling. No two tops are identical. The base is TIG-welded 12mm steel rod with flat steel bar supports and pressure-cast zinc feet, powder-coated matt black throughout.
- MC330 Dimensions: Length: 45cm × Width: 45cm × Height: 40cm
- MC320 Dimensions: Length: 80cm × Width: 80cm × Height: 40cm
- MC340 Dimensions: Length: 100cm × Width: 100cm × Height: 40cm

- Base: TIG-welded steel rod, powder-coated matt black (RAL 9005)
