Vitra Elliptical Table ETR Coffee Table
Manufacturer: Vitra | Designer: Charles & Ray Eames, 1951
The Surfboard Table
The ETR takes its name from its construction โ Elliptical Table Rod Base โ but it's the shape that stuck. The long, low ellipse prompted an obvious nickname: the surfboard table. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1951, it sits just 25.5cm from the floor, with a laminated top in black or white carried on twin chrome-plated rod bases โ the same bent and welded steel wire construction that runs through much of the Eameses' furniture work.
Specifications
- Dimensions โ L226.7 ร W74.6 ร H25.5cm
- Table top โ plywood core, high-pressure laminate surface
- Base โ steel wire, chrome-plated or powder-coated
- Colours โ Black HPL with Basic Dark powder-coated base; White HPL with White powder-coated base
Part of the Vitra Eames Accessories collection, the Vitra Coffee Tables collection, and the Coffee Tables collection.
