Anodised Aluminium Vases by the Bouroullecs
The Nuage motif first appeared in the Bouroullecs' work in 2002, originally produced as a plastic shelf module — a cloud-shaped form designed to be grouped into clusters and large-scale configurations. Eight tubular cavities pierce the flat surfaces of the module while also defining its outer contours. For the Nuage vase, the designers executed this motif in anodised aluminium of varying heights. The cavities are now positioned upright, dividing the vase into eight individual tubes for the arrangement of flowers and grasses. The undulating surfaces produce an attractive interplay of light and shadow, and individual vases can be assembled into entire cloud formations.
The Large is the most substantial piece in the Nuage range — tall enough to carry long-stemmed flowers with ease and striking enough to stand as a sculptural object in its own right. Available in Burnt Orange, Ivy, Light Silver, and Steel Blue.
