Mikado is a chair that earns its place quietly. Designed by Barber & Osgerby, it impresses not through visual drama but through the quality of the experience it delivers. Upholstered on all sides, with a backrest that reclines at a gentle angle via an ingeniously simple concealed mechanism, it offers a level of comfort that belies its refined silhouette — equally at home around a dining table, in a restaurant, or within a meeting room.

Sustainability is embedded in the design from the ground up. Covers are unglued and fully removable for cleaning or replacement. Legs can be swapped individually or exchanged between material options — wood or recycled aluminium. The inner seat panel is aluminium with high recycled content; the backrest shell is produced from recycled post-consumer polypropylene, cleanly separable from foam padding at end of life. No glue anywhere in the construction — every component can be sorted by material for recycling.

This chair is configured in F80 Savana 02 upholstery with Black Oak legs — a considered, versatile combination that works across a wide range of interiors.
