Girard's Approach to the Interior Wall

Alexander Girard believed that every surface in a room deserved the same level of care as the furniture within it. Walls, ceilings, and floors were treated as active elements of an interior — not neutral backdrops. The Metal Wall Reliefs grew from this conviction, originating in decorative work Girard created for The Compound restaurant in Santa Fe and for his own home. Selected in cooperation with the Girard family, the motifs are made from powder-coated sheet metal and arrive with all assembly materials included.

The Sun is the most serene piece in the Wall Relief range — a large golden disc with Girard's characteristic face motif at its centre. Warm in tone and generous in scale, it works beautifully as a focal point on a plain wall or as an anchor in a broader Girard arrangement.
