Vitra Eames Wool Blanket

Manufacturer: Vitra | Designer: Charles & Ray Eames

The Dot Pattern, 1947

Like many other prominent twentieth-century architects and designers, Charles and Ray Eames sought to implement their ideas about colours, shapes and materials in the design of textiles. The Dot Pattern was created in 1947 in conjunction with an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York — a large-scale graphic composition made up of crosses and dots, referencing the abstract paintings by Ray Eames from the 1930s. In a jacquard weave, the colours of the pattern are reversed on the front and back.

The blankets are made from 100% Merino lambswool — a high-quality natural fibre obtained from the first shearing of Merino lambs, extremely light, fine and soft to the touch while providing optimal warmth and thermal balance. Produced by a German manufacturer with over 100 years of experience working with natural fibres.

Specifications

  • Dimensions — 200 × 135cm
  • Material — 100% Merino lambswool, jacquard weave
  • Colours — Black, Taupe

Also available: Vitra Colour Block Blanket. Part of the Vitra Eames Accessories collection.
