A Study in Colour and Weave

Hella Jongerius designed the Colour Block Blanket as a study in how warp and weft interact. Four colour blocks of varying intensity are woven together, their relationship shifting depending on the combination — the two-tone effect is most visible at the edges, where the fringe and selvedge reveal the underlying thread colours. The wool is Peruvian highland wool from a Merino-Corriedale crossbreed: soft from the Merino side, durable from the Corriedale.
