The PH 3½-3 Metal Pendant was launched to mark Poul Henningsen's 120th birthday on 9 September, based on his original drawings from the late 1920s and early 1930s. It is a direct expression of his three-shade system — a geometric approach to lighting in which every surface angle is calculated to redirect and soften the output of the bulb, eliminating glare entirely. The shades are pressed at Louis Poulsen's own factory in Vejen by staff trained in a craft that very few now practise.

Three deep-drawn aluminium shades, each with a white-painted rolled edge — a detail that is both decorative and structural, accentuating the familiar profile of the three-shade fixture and creating optical symmetry between the shades. The white inner surface directs light gently downward; the downward light is soft and shadow-free. The suspension is silk matt brown brass, finished in copper. Available in four colours drawn from Poul Henningsen's own colour universe: Red, Green, Yellow, and White.
