A Shelf Built From a Single Sheet of Aluminium
The Korpus Shelf was designed by Norwegian product designer Andreas Bergsaker for HAY with a straightforward brief: a durable, multi-purpose wall shelf made from a material that can be recycled indefinitely. The answer was sheet aluminium, formed through an industrial stamping and punching process into the shelf’s distinctively curved column and top. The result is a piece that is light enough to mount easily and robust enough to handle daily use.
Keyhole slits at the back make mounting clean and straightforward. Concealed hooks in the column provide additional hanging options beyond the shelf surface itself. Available in three sizes and six powder coated colours — Brick Red, Brown, Cream, Midnight Blue, Pink, and Sea — it works as a coat rack in a hallway, storage in a kitchen or bathroom, or a display shelf in a living room.
