Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1968, it is carved from a single block of Carrara marble — the shade, the base, and the body are all one continuous piece of stone. Light passes through the thinned walls of the marble shade, giving the stone a warm, translucent glow that changes with the density of the material. No two Biagio lamps are identical — the natural veining of Carrara marble ensures each piece is unique.
