Warm, enveloping light from a glass dome

The Bellhop Glass T by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby is a large-scale table lamp built around a triplex opaline glass diffuser — a sandwich of blown glass layers, with a white layer set between two transparent ones, all blown simultaneously. The varying thicknesses across each layer are deliberate: they ensure the light source remains at a distance from the inner surface, producing illumination that is uniform, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The cylindrical aluminium base — 12 cm in diameter — grounds the dome with quiet precision.
