Vitra Gueridon Dining Table Round
Manufacturer: Vitra | Designer: Jean Prouvé, 1949
Structural Clarity in Natural Wood
The Guéridon was produced by Jean Prouvé for the University of Paris — a convincing demonstration of clear structural principles in a natural material. It is a variation of Prouvé's architecturally informed design vocabulary, proving that modern tables do not have to be made from steel and glass. Three solid wood legs, matched to the top in finish, are joined by a tubular steel crossbar — the only concession to metal in an otherwise all-wood construction.
Available in two diameters and three finishes: natural oak, dark oak, or American walnut.
Specifications
- Dimensions — Ø90 × H74cm or Ø105 × H74cm
- Top & legs — solid oak, natural oiled; solid oak, dark hard-wax oil finish; or solid American walnut, natural oiled (legs matched to top)
- Crossbar — tubular steel, powder-coated smooth
- Wood origin — oak (Quercus robur) from Western Europe and/or Poland; American walnut (Juglans nigra) from the USA
Also available as the Vitra Guéridon Bas Coffee Table. Part of the Vitra Jean Prouvé Collection, Vitra Dining Tables and Dining Tables collections. Pairs well with the Vitra Dining Chairs collection.
